Posted By cdthomas Hi all, I start my NEBOSH Diploma and would be grateful for any tips/advice. I have read from other postings about purchasing Ian Coombes books-can someone tell me where I can get hold of these or has someone got them to sell?? I am also doing the C & G 7303 PTLLS so am praying these give me the necessary 'clout' to get into the H & S sector as I am still searching for my first role. I am seeking a junior/assistant role in warehousing/manufacturing in the grimsby/cleethorpes area although I would travel or even relocate for the right post. Can anyone help me????? Have gone to our local paper to appeal for work as I can't get anything-I appreciate I lack practical knowledge but I am hard-working, dedicated, well motivated-all of my qualifications have been self-funded whilst working very long hours in a job I hated, and being the only bread winner in the household. All I want is a chance to prove myself, someone somewhere gave you guys/gals a chance-so please, please return the favour. chris

Posted By Richard Altoft Chris, Ian Coombes is a senior member of ACT Associates Ltd who are well known trainers(?? possibly founder or MD) so google ACT or try RMS who are the publishers for ACT on www.rmspublishing.co.uk or 01384 447927. I cannot vouch for these books as do not teach diploma regularly but I do use their Cert books and they are good. All the best R

Posted By Rochelle Eames Hi there I can vouch for the Ian Coombes books - they are excellent revision material to back up any notes that you are given from your course and i use them for reference purposes now. There are a few mistakes in them but on the whole well worth the money spent. I would also look up the Turnbull report, HSG 48 - behavioural and HSG 65. Good luck with your dip.
