Hello Everybody

I'm an avid reader of this particular forum over the last few months due to me being unemployed. Recently landed a job of the blue thank God, but really was a bit of a fluke!!!

Just wanting to get a feel for anyone else working in Ireland on opportunities available out there at the moment. There seems to be little or none on the job sites. It always the same jobs advertised by the recruitment companies & you really have to wonder do they exist.

It's my opinion that there are very few opportunities in EHS in Ireland at the moment, for obvious reasons.

I'm interested in other peoples opinions. I really worry for recent or upcoming graduates of H&S courses that have cropped up in I.T.s & Universities in the last few years too. What will they do!!!???

Hi, I'm in the North and its pretty bad for new positions up here. There has been maybe 1 or 2 positions since last November and it appears that only very experienced safety professionals are being offered those positions. I have a good CV and 4-5 years experience but trying to make the step up from advisor to managers position is proving very difficult. Add to this the total lack of new opportunities and it does not look very promising. I'm lucky (touch wood) that i currently work for a large multinational getting great experience and paid quiet well but it is still very frustrating as i very much wish to progress to management position. Good to hear you are back in the game though. Hopefully things will pick up again and we can all start to kick on!

Cheers
