I am considering enrolling for the distance learning diploma in occupational health and safety and searching for the cheapest possible cost. Does anyone have any advice on firstly distance learning and secondly approx costs involved ?.

I too did the diploma by distance learning and as i was paying for it myself had to go for a cheap one.

Im obviously not going to reveal their name on here, but i thought that the quality of support, lecturing, and course materials was poor.

I feel that the only reason i managed to pass was because i had done quite a lot of distance learning in the past. I struggled with it anyway, but had i not had any distance learning experience i felt it would have been even more difficult.

Like most things, it seems that you get what you pay for.

Good luck!

I also done a search for the cheapest e-learning method as I too was paying for this myself with no company support. Big mistake, as my course provider's material was pathetic. Loads of mistakes throughout it and I eventually got a refund and a written apology.
I now study with a more expensive provider, but the material is clearer and factual. It is also easier to understand, but it must be said that whatever route you choose, you will have to purchase other study materials too. Ian Coombes books are superb and £75 is a bargain for how valuable you will find it.

You may also consider paying for just unit A from a provider first, to sample their stuff - before commiting to the whole package?

Best of luck, B
