Maxmillam,
If you need to know about CHAS accreditationthen the best bet would be to contact CHAS.

Maxmillian,
I have dealt with helping companies achieve CHAS status when working as a consultant. I suggest you download an application form from their website and see what criteria you have to meet by trying to complete their form.
Regards
Tony

Even in the credit crunch bad times, there is work out there for completion of this type of company assessment, not just from helping the firm complete paperwork , but also helping with training needs to bring them up to the required standard to pass the assessment.

Dont do it...!!! No on a serious note it is one of the hardest things we have ever done. Made ISO14001 audits a walk in the park!!! And there is not even any face to face contact!!!
It is a HUGELY pedantic system - I challenge anyone to apply and get their paperwork through first time (sort of wish I hadn't said that now as will get loads saying they have!!!) My own personal opinion is that it is a bit of a job creation scheme because even when you have it - it does not appear in any way to ease the path to site.
Do look at the website and if you have hours and hours to dedicate to gathering evidence then go for it - otherwise think long and hard as there is an annual renewal audit and that is even worse!!!

If your thinking about CHAS accreditation you may want to consider SAFE Contractor too. I've achieved accreditation for both in the past and they've proved very worthwhile.
I'm currently assisting a company in Surrey who are going for both CHAS and Safe Contractor simultaneously. If you'd like more detail as to whats involved do let me know.

have donne this many times for several companies and the process is not too difficult and you should be able to do this 1st time every time as a safety professional with construction experience.
achilles building confidence (as requested by Bovis and Shepherds to name but a few) now thats much more in depth but again its still possible to achieve 1st time around.
