Not work experience, but I have spent a lot of time in Mexico City and Vallarta. I can safely say that I saw no evidence of Health & Safety.

Depends on who you work for and the industry. I am currently in Monterrey providing safety training to non safety professionals. There has been a big shift in the manufacturing base from the USA to certain parts of Mexico and with this safety expectations are higher. Mexico is a poor and developing country so expect many challenges and extremes when it comes to safety. People, food and climate are good. Soccer mad - driving can be crazy! I have colleagues who have been based here on medium term contracts. Some have loved it, whilst others have found the challenge tough, so approach it with an open mind if you have the chance to work or potentially work here.
