looking to move from engineering into health and safety

Posted By martin park I have been working for the past four years in the engineering industry focusing on heavy plant/agricultural machinery gaining hands on expereince in the mechancial and electrical field. During this time i have been studying for the NEBOSH General Certificate in the evening which i have now passed with Credit, it has also allowed me to take on additonal health and safety duties at work gaining valuable experience conducting risk assessment, inspections, audit and implimenting control measures to reduce risk. My aim now is to try and move into the Health and Safety industry permanently, work towards the NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered Status of IOSH. I would also like to take the conversion course onto the NEBOSH Construction and Fire Certificate at an appropriate time. I would like to find a job as soon as possible so the information i have learnt in the qualification is fresh in my mind to perform on a day to day basis and build upon. I am based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire ( just off J29 M1 Motorway) realistically i am looking for an opportunity in Chesterfield, Sheffield, Ripley, Nottingham and other areas in a similar radious from my home. Should anybody know of any vacanices for Health and Safety Advisor/Officer i would really appreciate it if you could let me know. I am prepared to take on the courses mentioned in my own time and travel as part of a job.
I hope to hear from you
Martin
