I wish to obtain diploma level 4 accreditation. This is to be funded by my employer. I have come across a diploma level 6 provided by the BSC is this to the same level as the NEBOSH one?
I am confused on which one to go for,can anyone out there help?

The only health and safety "qualification" at level 4 in the "old system" is NVQ/SNVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Practice. However, it has never been described as a "Diploma".

Think you might be mixed up a little bit. Both the BSC and Nebosh diploma's are at level six. However the NVQ level 4 in occupational safety and health is seen as a level four qualification but is at the same level as a BSC OR NEBOSH level 6 diploma and carries the same kudos.

The National Qualification Framework gives an outline from level 1 (lower GCSE's) up to level 8 (higher academic studies).

There is some confusion as this scale previously ran from level 1 to level 5. The scales were extended as there were a lot of qualifications with the same NQF Level but had varying amounts of difficulty and time demands. (e.g. a level 4 cert in 'early years' and a level 4 NEBOSH diploma).

If it's kudos you're after choose a level 6 award such as the NEBOSH or BSc diploma. You'll see there are loads of threads arguing for other qualifications but you can't get away from the fact that many still see NEBOSH as the benchmark.

It's up to you personally though. There are many NVQ level courses (at a lower NQF level but equally regarded) that may be more suitable for you due to the less academic assessment based style of learning and assessment.

I'm not going to get into that argument though, just search the threads for NVQ vs NEBOSH!!!
