Posted By chandrashekhar I have been asked to provide a report of accident statistics(manhours, nearmisses, first aid cases, injuries, accident frequency rates etc) in the form of graphical presentation of some construction sites under my control. Has anyone got a system of procedure that they would share with me, your help would be appreciated. thanks in advance Chandra

Posted By Ged Chandra, If you read the archives there was a thread about this and a website was recommended www.web-safety.com/papers/papers.htm (paper no 3) might be worth a look

Posted By Peter Rees Chandra, If you are looking at compiling your own stats, rather than obtaining industry specific information how about the following:- 1. Frequency ratio - ie graph showing historical data of number of reportable accidents million hours worked. 2. Accident ration - as above except number of minor accidents (ie non-reportable to HSE etc) per million hours worked. 3. Accident Pyramid showing number of fatalities; no of reportables; no of minor accidents; no of near misses; no of possible work related absence. I also send information to relevant personnel regarding claims analysis and inter-departmental comparisons. As will happen with any of this information if you haven't already got it in a usable format then you may have some fun ahead putting it altogether.
