Hi there,
looking for a bit of specific advice guidance on what the recommendations/regulations applicable are to cutting grass on a slope 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 using mechanical means. My guess is that it's via a risk assessment and the requirements of PUWER and perhaps HSE guidance on tractor overturning but I have a feeling that someone with a council background may be able to tell me how they deal with this subject. I would be grateful if any answers could be as specific as possible. Additionaly - is there BS or similar relevant to the above when designing an embankment or slope??
Many thanks in advance.

Dave,
Can I suggest that you do a search of the forum as there is previous information about this archived on this site.

Hmmm,
I've tried doing a search using keywords but unfortunately don't appear to be able to bring any other posts up covering a similar situation.
If anyone knows who may have originally had a similar query or indeed find the post!??

Hi,
Try searching on grass cutting. You will find one thread, although I am not convinced that it address the point that you are raising.

David,
I am not sure quite what yuo want, but for a starting point to help might be the HSE's AS 22, Prevention of tractors overturning, and AIS 25 agricultural mowers. The problems may be similar.
I can e-mail them to you if you want them and can't find them want them as they are pdf files.
