I am interested in doing part time lecturing to NEBOSH Cert level, can anyone give any advice on how best to achieve this - do NEBOSH require lecturers to have any specific training ? Posted By Alison Dando If you want a training qualification for your CV then do a PGCE/Cert.Ed. To gain this you require 200 teaching hours which if you are doing the training for the NEBOSH Cert.(at the same time as the college course) at your local college would qualify towards this time. This course was over 2 years but I think that has now changed to 3 years this Sept. Your local council used to pay though a grant of £1000 (non means tested, though if you wanted more for books then you got a student loan which was repayable) over the 2 years and all you need is day release to do it. (In the second year much of the research required for the projects and RPDs can be done on the internet.) Contact your local college for details. If you complete your PGCE then you can do a BA afterwards if you still feel enthuiastic!
