Hi!
I'm after an average total cost for an accident in a low risk, service industry environment. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Brian

Brian,
See HS(G)96 - The Cost of Accidents.

Brian,
I use the following:-
Each accident loses a total of 2 man-days (sorry - not very PC) due to resulting illness/injury; subsequent investigations and follow-up actions.
The cost of each lost day = SSP + average daily wage of an operator (as he/she requires to be replaced to enable production to continue).
If a RIDDOR reportable occurs, then the number of days lost is amended accordingly.
I appreciate that this does not include all costs, but it is about as simple as I can get it, with it being about as realistic as possible.
Pete
