Posted By Katie Can anybody point me in the right direction. Is there a recommended mesh size which fixed guards have to be? I've had a look through PUWER and the Supply of Machinery Regs, but have just drawn a blank. I'm I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Posted By David Scott Try looking at PD 5304 which is a replacement for BS 5304 issued by the BSI wrt machine guarding. I think you'll find it will help.

Posted By Jim Evans Katie You may also want to look at BS EN 294:1992 'Safety of Machinery- Safety distances to prevent danger zones being reached by the upper limbs.' BS EN 349 'Minimum gaps to avoid crushing parts of the human body.' Jim
