What is the minimum distance that a storage vessel not exceeding 450 litres can be from a boundary? I need the legal minimum (preferably with details of the source of the legislation) as well as that recommended in "guidance".
Can anyone help?

Is there a legal minimum for domestic premises when equipment can be totally portable?
I have used LPG for several years and have never been advised by suppliers of any limits.
What about caravans?

If you are talking a fixed installation, such as that for domestic heating and cooking then LP Gas Association COP 1, Section 2 recommends 3 metres for a 1Tonne vessel. However, Table 1 of that publication would suggest that for a 150 to 500Ltr vessel, then a distance of 2.5 metres from buildings boundary, property line or fixed source of ignition.
COP 1 replaced HS(G) 34 by the way!

This thread being only of academic interest to me at present and not wishing to spend £40.00 on COP 1, I should be interested to hear whether the acceptable storage distance refers to a property boundary or to a neighbouring building. Living in a 'gas-free' area, I am aware of a number of LPG installations where the bottles are sited by boundary lines. (Personally, I dislike the stuff and use oil and electricity).

James, I seem to be having problems reaching you via e-mail.
LPG Association is a little reluctant to release COP's for free view so unfortunately will have to buy!!
