I am a health and safety trade union Rep,
Regulation 6, SRSC Regs, states that I have a right to investigate accidents where my members may be involved. At our last H&S Committee I raised this question Quoting the above, my employer responded by saying that although I have the right to investigate, there was nothing in law that says the employer has to inform me.
I say that I should be informed of any notifiable accidents or incidents immediately
not weeks later.

Point out Regulation 7(2) to your employer. This is about employers making available information necessary to enable safety reps to carry out their functions. The accompanying ACoP (6b) specifically indicates that this includes information about accidents.
