Anyone heard of any health problems related to ultra violet lights in toilets?

Yes the heroin addicts can't see their veins in the ultra violet light which can cause them headaches from straining their eyes.

Have to agree with the last message; if these are used to control a drug problem, then the positive benifits have to out weigh any other issues. That is unless you have employees that spend all day on the toilet?

Good Grief! The background information you can pick up in this forum is never ceases to amaze me.

I will admit to disliking this lighting intensely. Their use in vulnerable public toilets to dissuade drug misuse is the only real use at work. I've endured them at 4 and 5 star hotels who regard them as relaxing in buffett and break-out areas. Tosh! try identifying food under such lights. In my misspent youth the other use was in night clubs on the dance floor, never in the serious area around the bar and tables.

By the way they are good for attracting insects for swatting or electrocution!

For me this lighting now causes some visual disorientation which I find uncomfortable but no more than that

I posted a thread a while ago on this subject. After deciding that this was the way to go in our public loos (in a hospital)I then tried to get lighting contractors who would install such lights. Despite some leads I still haven't managed to find someone.

If you have any leads from your enquiries would you mind sharing them?

Many thanks
