Clarifications among Accident, Incident and Near Misses

In my recent training session on the subject matter, most of the participants are of the view that incident is the main heading from which we can further deduce the definition of accident and near misses. As you know all these fall into UNPLANNED and UNDESIRED EVENTS however there is a thin line of their differentiation. What's my opinion is: If an incident involves human injuries - it will be called an accident where as if an incident did not cause any loss and miss a hit then it will be a near miss. Can anyone further guide me in the matter please. Also do anyone knows about any such video.

Haroon,
I've got a basic PPT presentation on near misses/accidents/hazards that you could have if you want it.

I am afraid the definition of a Near Miss can be tricky - here goes
A situation in which there was the potential to cause injury to persons, damage to property or the environment, or within which some act has the potential to have caused any of the above.
I have to agree all things are incidents to an extent and I am reluctant to use the word accident in many instances as the word somehow gives comfort that nothing could have been done to prevent the injury.
Early thoughts anyway and would be pleased to hear other views.
