Posted By Steve Please can anyone supply any iformation regarding Regulators & Flashback Arrestors, is it a requirement that all regulators & flashback arrestors should be replaced after being in service or storage every 5 years ? Regards Steve

Posted By Jane Blunt Dear Steve The booklet published by the British Compressed Gases Association (14 Tollgate, Eastleigh Hants, http://www.bcga.co.uk/first.htm) CP7, relating to the use of oxyfuel gas equipment states that these items should be replaced or refurbished every five years, or as per the manufacturer/supplier recommendations. Seals, etc, can deteriorate, even if they are not used. Jane

Posted By Jim Walker I agree with Jane. See also BOC web-site. HSE web-site have some good basic stuff - new leaflet (downloadable) on gas cylinders was issued this month. In practice, I doubt you will find it is cost effective to refurbish. Also note that Flash back-back arrestors need fitting at the torch end - used to be OK on regulator end.
