Posted By Clare Charlton Has anyone managed to unravel BS9241 in relation to the thermal environment for work with VDU's? I am struggling to get my head round the Predicted Mean Vote index and Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied index. I have referred to BS7730 (Determination of PMV & PPD). Has anyone developed a simple way of comparing measureable results with these standards? Please do reply, whatever your experience with this lot! Thanks

Posted By Adrian Watson Clare, PPD and PMV are not simple as you've presumably found out. A simple precis of their requirements and the method of measurement is found in "assessment of exposure to indoor air pollutants" Who regional publications European Series No 78. An alternative is to look in CIBSE A1 guide if you want to find the requirements for thermal environments with VDU's. Regards Adrian Watson
