I've been told by an outside agency that we must have a signed copy of our Health & Safety Policy Statement displayed at the main entrance.
So far as I am aware the only statutory requirement is for the Health & Safety Law Poster and Employers' Liability.
Can anyone clarify?
We actually display a copy of our Health & Safety Policy Manual for reference, but this apparently does not safisfy the requirement

HSWA74 Section 2(3) says that you must bring the policy and any revision of it to the notice of your employees. It does not say you have to post it at the main entrance.

a lot of the larger companies put up a copy of their statement of intent in their receptions. Was it an enforcement agency or a consutant?

Thanks both; your thoughts seem to be much the same as mine. We do actually display a full copy of our policy manual for reference. We also make it available to any member of the public or other visitor on request.
The person concerned was a consultant employed by an accreditation body.
My immediate thought, expressed at the time, was "another young punk trying to make a name for himself"!! Apologies to all those under the age of 50!

Accreditation bodies seem to work off checklists which are often based on an interpretation of the requirements by the office junior.
I have seen several local authority establishments 'failing' their accreditation because they were not displaying Employers Liability Certs even though they are exempt!
