You do not say how your operation works but PVC is a polymer of Vinyl Chloride which is carcinogenic carrying the Risk Phrase R45. The COSHH Regs will apply most definitely, guidance can be found in EH40/2002 Occupational Exposure Limits as to the LTEL. You will need to consider the possible routes of entry into the body. There are also HSE info sheets available in the MDHS series (also listed in EH40). The British Plastics Federation might also offer some advice, but cant lay my hands on a contact number, a search on the web might help.
