I am looking to get a recognised qualification in Emeregcny Planning/Crisis Management.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to a university that does this.
I am in the North West (Manchester) but willing to do this by distance learning.

Peter,
You could try either Manchester College of Arts and Technology or Wirral Metropolitan College, to see whether their franchised course from Nottingham Trent University (BSc Hons) in SHE Management has this in the Risk Management module.

Peter,
I know Cranfield University do a degree course in Emergency/Disaster Management & Planning, This may, however be full time.
IOSH publicised on these pages, a new qualification in Emergency Planning/Management which was being piloted by Hull University and, I believe Safe Solutions which is a commercial company I believe, I think the first course was scheduled to begin around Oct/Nov this year, Try checking on either establishments websites for more details.
Sorry if the above seems abit vague but after the initial publicity it all went dead. Hope this helps though.

Try the Emergency Planning Society website www.emergplansoc.org.uk. They also have a link under their Events section to the Emergency Planning College who run a variety of courses
