Has anyone any experience of chair design issues. We have purchased chairs conforming to BS which have the front legs coming forward in an arc ending withn the feet about 150 mm in front of the seat line. To me it seems that people are likely to catch their foot as they stand and move to the side as is normal with a chair at a table. Can anyone point me to some information?

Rob,
Would have thought that the BS would relate to the build quality, material used etc and not necessarily the specific design or shape.
If you have recognised a hazard & risk in the way in which you use the equipment althogh they are certified etc it would be for you to solve and either accept the risk or do something about it, cant really say much more as do not know circumstances in their use.

Bob,
You may do well to speak to Advanced Seating Design - a company who provide seating solutions for offices etc. The contact details are as follows
0208 578 4308 or www.asd.co.uk.
Kind regards
