Some quick help, I have waded through several documents on asbestos and just get more confused.
We have had a site survey performed, which as expected, found asbestos and also detailed areas where asbestos was "suspected".
Does anyone have a sensible risk assessment covering day to day site maintenance tasks in these areas?

Julian, look at 2 hse publications asbestos essentials & task manuals HSG 213. You've osbiously got to manage your suspected and confirmed asbestos to monitor its condition & their are training issues. If anything falls outside those publications basically you can't do it unless you follow licenced legislation.
More info on hse.gov.uk/asbestos

Julian.
It is not as difficult as you think...
You have obviously had your asbestos survey done (type 2 survey by the sound of it) and the report has been furnished to you.
What you must do now is:
1) prepare a register of all the areas where asbestos has been found
2) decide, using the material assessment algorithm that should have been in the report, if you are going to remove it or manage it insitu
3) if the latter you must look at what chance there is of it being disturbed or damaged and manage that risk
4) Information, including a risk assessment needs to be available for all employees and others (e.g. contractors) who enter your premises to carry out work advising where the asbestos is and what they must do, or not do as the case may be to work safely.
5) if you are going to remove it, and it is more than 2 square metres (say asbestos sheeting) then you will need to employ an HSE approved asbestos removal contractor to do this work.
As stated further advice can be obtained from the relant publications, and I am sending you some details !!
Hope they are of use...
