Posted By Shane Johnston Our FLTs are having pnuematics replaced with "semi-solid" tyres. While I am fully aware of the whole body vibration issue, I can't think of any other problems this may introduce. I don't know if Grip is an issue, but would appreciate any thoughts. Shane

Posted By Alan Johnson Shane-We changed all our trucks to solids to overcome a nail problem and what I found was there are different types of compounds available. Soft compounds gave a ride very similar to pnuematiucs but tended to wear very quickly, harder compounds gave better wear but were a harder ride. In our case I settled for the harder spec because all the work was on a good tarmac surface.Ask your tyre rep for his recommendations.
