Anyone out there have experiences they are willing to share in the use of 'off the shelf' vibration database systems (such as provided by INVC)as a tool for initial assessment of HAVS associated with tools/activities?
I would particulary like to hear from other Local Authorities.

Has anyone any experience in using these databases, or is everyone else carrying out measurements on individual pieces of equipment?
We are about to undertake a survey of hand held equipment and it seems that a database of reference figures would cut down the work significantly.

It would certainly be a useful starting point but in my experience there are lots of other factors, like:
Individual machine characteristics (eg differences in balance)
Maintenance
Work being undertaken
Surface being worked on
differences in operator handling of equipment
