Posted By Tom Gorman I recently carried out a Health and Safety inspection of one of our warehouses, and an employee asked if there was a standard, e.g. British Standard, or similar, with regard to the specifications of handrails and protective fencing. I realise there are Building Regulations/Standards, however I would be grateful if members could post any other relevant sources of information in relation to this matter. Posted By John Turvey Hi Tom, In resoonse to your notice re guardrails etc BS 6180 for protective barriers in and about buildings. BS 5395 for stairs,permanent ladders and walkways. I hope that these are useful to you. John.
