Can anybody assist, looking for information relating to the any restrictions in operating times for this type of vehicle.
Do they require to be tacographed etc.
It has come to light that we have some operators which have been working in excess of 60 hours per week, and I am concerned if this practice is to continue.

The vehicle may have a tachograph fitted depending on its weight. As far as I know the tacho is only used to record vehicle speed against time so that the number of hours that the operator actually drives can be checked/recorded. I am not aware of any time limits relating to the operation of equipment fitted to vehicles.
hope this helps

If the vehicle is over 3.5t gross it will need a atchograph and will be subject to the Drivers Hours Regulations. It will also be subject to Operators Licencing and the CPC holder for the company should be able to advise on the drivers hours. If there is no Operators Licence, there may be serious breach of Road Transport Law.
I suggest you contact either the Freight Transport Association, or the Road Haulage Association for more expert advice.
