Posted By Jim Walker Chris, I guess you are new to the H&S profession, otherwise you would be aware that Allan is Mr OH&S. Ask IOSH how many copies of his book has been sold, also ask IOSH about their financial benefits from these. I challenge you to find any other individual who has done more for the cause and advancement of this profession in the last decade (or more). To my knowledge, Allen is very generous with both his time and know how. And he takes a ribbing with good humour. I for one would prefer it if you keep your silly remarks to youself.

Posted By Ian Stone Mr Chris Allan is always there to help, if he can help in anyway he will. I for one have been very thankful for his time, emails and useful advice on this forum. I agree with Jim please keep these kind of remarks to yourself

Posted By Nick House Jim/ Ian Wholeheartedly agree with you both. I know that most people on this forum are more than happy to share any knowledge that they may have to help others, but over the years, Allan seems to have regularly gone the 'extra mile'. Mr. Chris What have you contributed?

Posted By Ron Young Hear Hear, I'm sure that Allen can look after himself but heres my tuppence worth anyway. Ask anyone working in H&S today where the best source of information was when taking the NEBOSH Cert exams. On many occassions on this forum, Allen has offered sound advice, supplied information and taken part in many debates, where his comments are always appreciated. Ask anyone to give the name of a well known & respected H&S professional, I'd be surprised if Allen wasn't mentioned in most peoples response. Unlike you, he doesn't have to hide under a psuedo name either.

Posted By Ken Urquhart Mr Chris, Like the other contributors I have the privilege of knowing and sharing the friendship, support, counsel and IOSH fellowship of Allan St John Holt, over many years. As a simple matter of histroy IOSH when we first met in those formative and pioneering safety days was, IISO. (The Institution of Industruial Safety Officers) Some 30 plus years later we are both still IOSH members and still contributing to our chosen profession and the evolution and furtherance of our professional body. I have no idea what has prompted your posting but would politely suggest that before posting further messages on the Forum particularly regarding individuals/personalities, you might like to re-read the Forum Users Guidelines. Regards. Ken Urquhart
