Having just sat the Part 2 Diploma I was surprised at the lack of attendees. From what I could gather there were 5 in total for the whole of Scotland and Northern Ireland and 3 were on re-sits.

Have employers lost interest in this expensive qualification or are students just getting tired of talking NEBOSH?

I wonder as a national figure how many people sat the Certificate, Parts 1 & 2 Diploma.

Maybe it's because there are less expensive courses available elswhere that are equal in status to the NEBOSH Diploma.

Maybe there a tenuous link to my previous posting about the apparent lack of job opportunities in Scotland for H&S professionals.

There are several excellent accredited OSH programmes available from the universities in Scotland. When I have visited these there are a considerable number of students enrolled on these courses, I dare say that is why there is not very much demand for the NEBOSH qualifications. The universities are listed within the Membership section of the web-site.

Perhaps someone from NEBOSH would like to comment. Please don't treat this thread as a 'have a go' at NEBOSH area. It's a genuine question, all credit given to those who have already passed this very difficult exam.
