Posted By Claire McCann Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been involved in the drafting of a 'Normal Operating Procedure' for a swimming pool and an Emergency Action Plan as well. I have to draft the above and am not sure were to start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Claire

Posted By Peter Lee Claire, a good start point might be the HSE Publication Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools HSG179, priced £10.50.

Posted By Miriam Also contact the RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society, Broom, Warwickshire on 01789 773994. They provide general guidelines on what to include in NOPs/EAPs (normal operatng procedures/emergency action plans). Remember to include evacuation procedures for male/female changing rooms; gymnasium, dance studio, other fitness areas, saunas, etc if part of the swim pool complex.
