Posted By Graham Sargeant I was wondering if any one can offer some help here. I have a building site smack bang in the middle of a junior school, as part of the safety program we are making the work a bit of a project for the kids, I have got the HSE keep safe on site comics and also spoken to RoSPA about the SPLAAT (safe play at all times) resource pack, can anyone else point me in the direction of resources, posters, videos web sites etc that will help get the message of safety across to kids in a fun way, I also need to give plenty of material to the teachers to! Appreciate any help. E-Mail sargeant@ntlworld.com or can call on 01933 222241, Thanks

Posted By Robert K Lewis In the old days before he was famous I used my namesake Bob the Builder. But he is now too expensive in person. But look at some of the material. You could also get your contractor to set up some demonstrations of the dangers such as sharp objects in sand, unknown liquids in buckets etc.
Bob t B - I wish I had his money

Posted By Ian Bruce Graham,
We're focussing on just this sort of issue in my LEA at the moment.
We're doing lot's of stuff to raise staff awareness but are considering using the European Week as a mechanism to get the kids involved, for example, why not think about the kids designing their own construction safety posters and linking that into the iosh poster design competition? £100 prize money is quite an incentive!
