Dear all
I work in the Hotel industry and we store a small amount of LPG cylinders at the back of our workplace. Does the LPG Regs come into force? Is there a minimum amount of cylinders, quanity of gas stored before the Regs are applicable?
Does anyone know what the requirements are for storeage of LPG with other pressuried cylinders.
Thank you very much for your help.

Jane Blunt has posted an excellent reply to your question. I would comment that possibly you are concerned about other gasses being stored in the vicinity.
If this is a concern then the supplier of your other gasses should be able to assist. In the case of BOC for example they have a superb assessment kit and documentation (you pay). In general it is good policy to separate any oxygen from fuel gasses. In addition you need to remember that there is no such thing as an empty cylinder unless purged. On this basis 'empty' cylinders may well have the ideal mix within them to support combustion with subsequent explosion hazard.
'Empty' cylinders of various types should be segregated from those that are full and should subsequently be stored in a more remote area. Cylinders should be secured in racks preferably within secured cages that have signs attached indicating contents stored within, these cages should have a roof to provide sun shelter. Big thing to remember with LPG is that it is heavier than air so siting of store needs to be away from drains and pits etc.
Hope this assists you
