I would be very interested to find out how many organisations report sick absence (over 3 days) due to work related stress to the HSE under RIDDOR. Proving causal link for a doctor is difficult, but still it appears as the reason for absence, and so I would think be reported as an industrial illness, brought on by the workplace.

Which category of RIDDOR would you say it qualifies under? Find one and you have your answer, but I doubt you will.

That's because stress wasn't on the map or the radar way back when RIDDOR was just a lad with big ideas. Like all those events we know really are dangerous occurrences, but 'aren't' RIDDOR ones because the categories are specific and selective.

Frustrating, the law. But of course you recognise that reporting to the authorities is just one of the interesting things we do with the information you're collecting. So get the stress programme running and don't worry about it!!
