We as a company have an issue with refresher training with regards to the above subject. Different training providers have different views ranging from No refresher training is required to every two years or every 3 years. We as a company have made a decission as a company that we review it when the risk assessments are reviewed annually. Our term contractor has now put a statement on all training certificates "This certificate is valid 2 years from the date of training and quoting LOLER" I feel this is a grey area that is open to a lot of debate LOLER,PUWER give no periodicty for refresher training. Would like to hear views from anyone in the same boat not only with overhead crane training but with refresher training across the board. Come on HSE lets make it clear and have some commitment.

Agree that there is no 'Statutory' requirement to do this, however it would be industry best practice to do this, as you can update people on new ideas and ways of working, the art is at what interval its done
