Could anyone enlighten me on any restrictions there may be on the siting of an overground diesel tank. My main question is:
What is the closest position a building can be sited to a 50,000 litre diesel tank?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hello
I would suggest that you have a look at a document from the Environment Agency, PPG2, Pollution Prevention Guidelines, it gives a lot of detail on Above Ground Storage Tanks

Hope that helps

Suggest you also look at 'The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage)(England)Regulations 2001 which set out the requirements to be met for the safe storage of oil above ground.
New stores must comply by 1/3/02
Existing by 1/09/05.
There is a leaflet on www.defra.gov.uk or www.environment-agency.gov.uk
