Has anyone come across the problem of having non- nationals working in the construction industry, coming to site with out having the basic safety course done? In Ireland we have the SAFE PASS certification (Ireland also recognises the CSCS and CRS as mentioned in the subject line - and only these). It is illegal to work on a construction site in Ireland with out one of the three mentioned above, is there any equivalent scheme run in other European Countries? One site I deal with has a French and Italian company working there and they are constantly (dispite our numerous refusal of access to site and repremands issued to them) sending people over for anything from 1 day to 4 weeks.
Is there any move to standardise a basic safety course like this in all of the EU?
Is there any certification that is issued in these Countries that I could at least know will have covered the basics with these people?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
