One of our employees is approx. 3 months pregnant. She has informed us in writing of this and now we will carry out a suitable risk assessment specifically for her situation. She works in an office situation, on the 5th Floor of a tower block (there is a lift) carrying out mainly secretarial but also some postroom duties. As far as I know she is fully fit and able-bodied but uses a hearing aid.

I've got to do the risk assessment and don't want to miss anything. I've got the obvious hazards such as standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, etc. Can anyone suggest some hazards which might not be so obvious for pregnant workers that I might miss, especially of a medical nature.

Are there any recently highlighted problems or cases which have come up recently which I should take into account. I've looked at various sources but can't find a list of pregnant workers' hazards which covers just about everything.

I understand that all workplace situations and therefore the risk assessments will be different but some pointers or obscure hazards would be much appreciated.
