Posted By Steuart J Whitfield An enquiry from a member of my staff about his partner's employer stipulating that she must buy her own PPE has made me look at the HSE database to see if any organisation has indeed been served enforcement action and or fines for this offence against Section 9 of HASAWA. My searching skills may prohibit me in finding information but so far I cannot find any. Although a fine of up to £20k is available to the courts does anyone know of an instance where a succesful prosecution has been achieved?

Posted By Lesley V McDonald Under HASWA section 8 or 9 (forget which - oops) basically states that employees should not have to pay for items required to protect their H&S. Although agencys can be found to inform staff they must supply their own safety boots etc.....
