Posted By Alan Barthrope My Company has a woodworking machine shop and a bench joinery section which are both fitted with LEV systems. The LEV is adequately checked, tested and maintained, as it should be. My problem is that we do not currently test/monitor the remaining atmosphere, therefore we do not know if employees are being exposed to levels above any OES or MEL's. For what are potentially carcinogenic dusts, we should be monitoring. I would like advice from others in this field, to establish what similar Companies do. I do appreciate that we are not doing enough to satisfy the protection of workers or what the law requires. If there is anybody that carries out dust monitoring of this nature, I would appreciate the chance to visit your premises and discuss the matter with you. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds to this thread.
