I saw this article on the BBC website - It made me laugh - some of it - I know it is supposed to be serious, but the bit about "Guidance on whether photocopiers can support someone's weight if the office party gets out of hand" - really made me laugh!

Enjoy!

Chris

Happy Christmas!

And this answer to that ever important question!

FROM TUC WEBSITE:

Our office parties can get a bit out of hand when people start playing pranks. Will our photocopier support anyone's weight?

If the office Christmas Party goes really traditional and you end up making 'cheeky' photocopies, you won't be exposed to toner or harmful light for long enough to hurt you, but you may well find yourself spending the rest of the evening face down in casualty, having shards of glass removed from your bottom. This is a surprisingly common occurrence, as photocopiers simply aren't designed to be robust enough to take any kind of weight, even if yours has managed to withstand a lot of rough treatment and kicks all year.

- So the advice must be - if you want to photocopy your unmentionables, make sure somebody holds you above the glass (after doing a Manual Handling assessment of course)! ;)

If you want the whole lot of festive TUC cheer (including Austrian shopworkers' concern about being driven hatstand by Jingle Bells) follow this link.

Could always go for a hi-tec solution. Provide handheld or vertically mounted scanners?
