Posted By Renny Thomson TechSP Does anyone have a spreadshhet to calculate noise exposure levels, protection values etc that uses the forthcoming Action Levels as per the Physical Agents Directive? I currently use a exel spreadsheet, but is is set up for current levels and my knowledge/competence with exel is making me very wary bout trying to modify it to calculate exposure times etc in relation to the new levels. Thanks in anticipation,

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Renny There is a noise exposure spreadsheet on the HSE website but I think it will probably use the existing noise limits. Paul

Posted By Kevin West The spreadsheet on the HSE website calculates the daily exposure levels depending on the Leqs entered and the duration of exposure to noises. You then compare the Lepd to whatever the action level is (old ones 85 and 90 dB(A), new ones will be 80 and 85 with an absolute limit if 87 dB(A)). However, it does not calculate weekly exposures (as the new directive will allow this comparison also). In addition the HSE spreadsheet also allows you to put in a Lepd of your own and then allows you to calculate how long soeone needs to be exposed to a Leq to reach the Lepd. In short, for daily exposure levels the spreadsheet will work for the forthcoming regs. Hope this helps. Kev
