The company I currently work for have historically carried out fitness to climb medicals for personnel working over 2m in height. It is not something I have come across before and would like some more information on this. The person who has organised it in the past has left so it has been passed onto me. Does anyone else carry this type of medical, if so why, what, when and is what specific legislation is relevant to this. Thanks for your assistance.

There is no specific legislation but, as part of the risk assessment, it would be a good idea to check that the climbers did not suffer from vertigo or any other conditions that might give rise to a need for rescue from height.
