We have several different types of pipes going through our factory and we are looking into correctly marking these for ease of identification. I know you have to label them but can you paint them certain colours. The pipes are drinking water, Non drinking water, gas, compressed air and suction pipes.
Can anyone help ?

We have all our pipelines colour coded, depending on what pipe does what.

We then display in areas a chart which explains the colour coding pipe system. Works well.

Darryl.

Don't forget you also need to put flow direction arrows on the pipework for isolation purposes in the event of an accident. Most signage for pipework now comes with the arrows on the labels.
