We are at present in dispute with Human Resources at the moment over the provision of eye tests. They say that the Occupational Health service will provide the service, but it was proven that the last provider was only doing vision screening tests, which under regulation 5 of the DSE regs do not fully satisfy the regs.
I believe that the new provider will only provide the same service. We have had employees paying for the proper eye test and we are now in the process of getting them reimbursed.
Has anyone had the same problem? If not take head that a lot of Occ. Hlth providers are possibly not providing the same service.

The eye and eyesight tests provided under the DSE Regs must be carried out by a registered optician. Vision screening can only filter out those who don't have a problem from those who might.

A user can still request a test & it must be provided even if the vision screening does not identify them as needing an eye/eyesight test. Strictly speaking they should be told that this is the case.
