If you are allowing Sharp bins to be sited within a building, you ought to consult the following documents for guidance: Section 8(d) Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Section 38 Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 "Placement of Sharps bins in buildings" ...and to answer your original question, all Sharps bins should be manufactured to ISO 9002, and to BS 7320:1990. Hope this helps.
