Hello
I have recently taken up the new role as Best Practice Advisor within a large utility company.
One of my duties is to develop "best practice" for Occupational Road Risk. I would be grateful if anyone was able to provide me with information or advice on this subject.
Additionally if anyone is able to forward me names of Companies who tackle Occupational Road Risk effectively would also be appreciated.

One of whose subject was on Occupational Road Risk, which was very enlightening. It was given by David Penny, a Senior Consultant for PACTS (Parliament Advisors Council for Transport Safety). He was there upon invitation by John Bacon of Fleetrisk 24 Ltd., a company based in Kent who specialise in helping companies meet their requirements of the regulations within this area. RoSPA have lots of good practices, some available free on their website. Also the Occupational Road Safety Alliance (ORSA) has a useful website orsa.org.uk. Even HSE have some guidance, though mostly about on-site management rather than public raods.
You can do a lot of basic things using these references, without having to pay for services.

There are two very good documents - one from the HSE and one from Rospa. Check both their websites for exact details or e mail me directly. I've also been working with specialist consultants called Risk Answers and Driving Services are a sister company of theirs dealing with training etc.
