Posted By Joe Ridley I would like to ask if anyone on the board is using this system and what their opinions of it are, and if there are any other systems out there that are comparable. Cheers Joe

Posted By Zyggy Turek Joe, we have been using TI via the internet for a couple of years now & taking everything into account, have been quite happy. The largest slice of the fee is for British Standards, & they used to quote a much smaller figure if you didn't want this facility. It all depends on how often you need to look a BS up, but then there is always your local library if this doen't happen very often. The data base of files is massive, but the downside of any IT system is if your local network fails, then so does the access. I know that Barbour have a similar system, but it is some time since I appraised it. Another plus with TI is that we also get to subscribe to other specialist sites which cover fire, construction, etc.

Posted By peter gotch Joe As long as you understand the search syntax the TI OHSIS package is very comprehensive with a broad range of publishers represented enabling identification of specialist guidance across numerous work sectors. Minor downsides currently 6 month bar on HSE publications which they are trying to negotiate down, and no access to publications from eg RoSPA, CITB Quite expensive. Very expensive if you add eg Construction, Railway Group Standards etc with on line access for about 3000 users! Fortunately not costed against our H&S budget. Regards, Peter
