Regarding the supply of hazardous substances. Should a Safety Data Sheet accompany the supply of small quantities of hazardous substance ie 500ml bottles? Who does the onus to supply the sheets relate to, the original supplier or a middle man distributor between the supplier and final customer?
Thanks for any help.
Barry.

Barry,
all hazardous substances should be supplied with a safety data sheet. The responsible agent is the supplier to your company.

Something I've done a lot in the past when ordering chemicals is to state that a safety data sheet is a legal requirement and MUST be provided with the product or it will be rejected at goods inwards, after that the suppliers generally supply them without being prompted. Eventually the company I worked for incorporated it into thier standard order form as a condition.
