Is there anybody out there who has official information re scientific/ergonomic reports and guidance re the pros and cons of both.

The HSE's line is gray on the issue especially about the working time and type of work done re Laptops

Bob,

I recall HSE sponsored research by System Concepts, an ergonomics specialist company. I seem to remember that it concluded that the greatest risk identified from using laptops was one of manual handling when using normal shoulder cases. Can't find the report just now but others may recall it in more detail.
