A client has an employee who cannot wear safety footwear for medical reasons.
Has anyone come across this problem and what was/were the solution(s).

Any advice would be welcome.

In the issue of the safety practitioner dated April 2004 there is on page 14 a review of a recent case.

An employeee who can't wear PPE is a bit like a fireman who can't wear breathing apparatus - it might not be considered unreasonable to say that they simply are not fit for the job

Firstly I've got to say the persons medical condition is genuine.
Thanks to advice recieved directly by email and posted on the forum I think we can find a resolution to the problem. The article in the SHP certainly clarifies the position.

Thanks again to all who contributed.
